Can I run the Rialto 400 in Bridged Mono mode?
Yes.
The manual does not explicitly state that it can, but thru a couple of simple steps you can configure the amp to run a single mono speaker to achieve 400 Watts of power bridged.
For a Digital Source:
Switch both left and right channel Rialtos to Mono (on the bottom). Connect your Toslink or Coax source to the left channel Rialto’s digital input. This is your left channel amp. Now connect the Sub/Mono preamp out of the left channel Rialto to the right channel Rialto’s left analog input. This is your right channel amp. For the speaker connections on both Rialtos, you will use the two center binding posts.
For an Analog Source:
Switch both left and right channel Rialtos to Mono (on the bottom). Connect your analog stereo (L/R) source to the left channel Rialto’s analog input. This is your left channel amp. Now connect the Sub/Mono preamp out of the left channel Rialto to the right channel Rialto’s left analog input. This is your right channel amp. For the speaker connections on both Rialtos, you will use the two center binding posts.
In both cases, you will want to set the gain on the left amp first, then set the right amp to unity (trim set to half). You may need to make some fine adjustments to balance the channels.
You will also want to configure the AccuBASS® process on the left amp ONLY, and leave the right amp with no AccuBASS®.
