What is the default IP address of my Director D/M, CM 70 volt, or RS series amplifier?
Default IP Address of AudioControl Amplifiers
The default IP address for our Director/Director Matrix distribution amplifiers, CM 70 volt amplifiers, and RS 500/1000 subwoofer amplifiers is 192.168.0.249.
If the amplifier does not receive an IP address upon boot up from a DHCP server, it will default to this address.
If you do not have the DHCP server enabled in your network router, you will need to connect your computer directly to the amp via an Ethernet cable and give your computer a static IP address in order to access the web user interface. Make sure the address is 192.168.0.x Where x is a value between 1 and 254, but not using 249.
How to set a Static IP on your Windows computer
The following steps were performed on Windows 11, but the process is very similar on previous versions of Windows.
Open the Control Panel on your computer. Open the Start menu by clicking the Windows Icon on your task bar, and search for "Control Panel", then open the software.
In Control Panel, select Network and Internet.
Select Network and Sharing Center.
Select Change Adapter Settings.
Right click the Ethernet port, and select Properties.
Select Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4), and then click Properties.
Click the box for "Use the following IP address," and type in the IP address 192.168.0.x (where x is any number from 1-254 excluding 249). The settings in the image below should work for most systems, just make sure to use a unique IP address.
Click OK to apply the IP address and exit the Properties menus.
Open your web browser of choice, type "192.168.0.249" into the browser's address bar, and hit enter.
You will be taken to a world of wonder known as the Director's Web GUI. You can now change all the amp settings you need.
When you are finished, return to the Internet Protocol Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) Properties menu, select "Obtain IP address automatically," and click OK to exit.
