How to use signal sense on a CM-series 70V amplifier

How to use signal sense on a CM-series 70V amplifier

On the CM2-750, CM3-750, CM4-750, and their Dante-enabled counterparts, the zones can be turned on & off via IP command, 12V trigger, or Signal Sense.
Check the following to make sure it works:
  1. Turn the zones ON.
  2. Turn global power ON, either via trigger or web UI global power button.
  3. Check that signal sense is active int he Amplifier settings.

Setting up Signal Sense

Local Zones

The zones need to be turned on in order for them to turn on via signal sense.
The zones have 3 statuses:

When the zone is OFF, it will not turn on when signal is received. Click the button in the web UI, send an IP command, or send +12VDC to the local trigger to turn it on.

When the zone power icon in the web UI is Orange, the zone is in standby awaiting signal.

When the zone power icon is Green, the zone is ON, and it has turned on when signal was sensed. After 2 minutes without signal, the zone will go back into standby, and the power icon will revert to orange.

Remember, if the zone power icon is not highlighted, the zone is off and it will not turn on with signal sense.

Global Power

In order for Signal Sense to work, the main power for the amp needs to be turned on. That means that either the +12V Trigger Jumper needs to be connected, or the Global Power button at the top of the page needs to be turned on (highlighted Green).

Master trigger with jumper between +12V & Trigger Input

Global power ON
The CM amplifiers come with the +12V Trigger jumper already installed.
If you have the trigger jumper connected, the global power does not need to be on. Conversely, if global power is on, the +12V Trigger jumper does not need to be connected.

Amplifier Settings

From factory, these amplifiers should come with signal sense already active.
To confirm, open the global settings by clicking the gear icon, and check the Amplifier settings panel at the top of the list. You should see it say "SENSE ON", and when you open the Amplifier settings, the Signal Sense button will be highlighted orange.

If it says "SENSE OFF" and the button is not highlighted, click the Signal Sense button to activate it.
